The leather industry will meet in Hong Kong for its most important annual event in April. APLF 2003 April Shows (Fashion & Finished Products and Raw Materials & Manufacturing) will open on 7 April at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre. Despite the present uncertainties of the international situation, the group pavilions are maintaining their traditionally strong presence. Countries and regions such as China, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Italy, the Philippines, Spain, Taiwan, Thailand and Turkey will present at both Fashion & Finished Products and Raw Materials & Manufacturing Shows. Pakistan, which has announced that it will postpone its plans to feature as Focus Country at APLF until the international outlook is clearer, has confirmed a pavilion in both events. Taking advantage of the presence of key industry figures in Hong Kong for APLF, the International Council of the Hides, Skins & Leather Traders Associations (ICHSLTA) will hold its annual general meeting on April 6.
