Even thought its light is weak and little hazy, the sun of Italy seems once again to have begun to shine brighter in Japan. In fact, In the Land of the Rising Sun, the last few seasons haven´t be very reassuring, registering negative performances. A timid change of direction that seems to be thanks to the Italian Firms themselves that have increased investments in a direct local presence, in order to take advantage of more efficient distribution and to satisfy the requirements of the market. In particular, according to figures released by the Japanese Ministry of Finance, imports from Italy regarding clothing, yarns and fabrics totalled 114 billion Yen, About a Billion Euros, in 2001, which is the equivalent of a growth of 13,7% compared to the previous year.
