Born from cooperation
The new material for counters, Relion, previewed by Tecno-Gi at the annual spring appointment with Lineapelle (May 2001), will be also a protagonist at the autumn edition that will be held in November.
These six months have been used to develop it to its full potential: small but determining changes have been made to the production stage, following precious input gained from industrial experimentation.
Regularly exported to 15 different countries, Relion is the practical demonstration that the quality contents of absolute excellence are determining factors for fast commercial success.
To make and develop the new product, Tecno-Gi used the most advanced technology, making the most, furthermore, of the cooperation of all the companies that make up the Group that it heads.
Indeed, SIPOL in Mortara, a leading company in special polyesters production, in which Tecno-Gi is a shareholder, synthesised, after months of research and experimentation, a new copolymer that represents the heart of the material. The controlled company, TECNO GI PLAST, dealt with resolving the many problems linked to engineering the product: the production process was adjusted after a new extrusion line was designed, it is innovative and absolutely original.
Tecno-Gi spa (Borgalavezzaro-Novara) applied its competence in making the product and developing the final article. Making the most of a sales network that has for some time been working in all countries around the world, furthermore, the head of the Group accelerated Relionīs process of presentation to the market. This product has, thanks to its innovative characteristics, obtained an international trademark, both as a product and a production procedure.
Characteristics
RELION is a thermoplastic material and therefore is very sensitive to heat: even at temperatures of little more than 70 degrees, its "open time", that is the stage when the counter after heating remains soft and therefore is perfectly workable, is long enough to allow any type of working. Thermoplastic and "open time" are the fundamental requirements to guarantee that it can be perfectly modelled and, furthermore, they favour the easy use and speed of production that are the necessary features for modern footwear manufacturing on a large scale.
The adhesive permits excellent hold for every type of leather, synthetic and fabric. Its hold of shape is perfect, touch of the finished shoe is rigid, but at the same time flexible too: this appears to be a contradiction, but in reality it is one of the peculiar characteristics of RELION. Its duration over time is decidedly higher than the materials currently available on the market. The tests carried out by Satra, indeed, have confirmed its excellent quality even in this respect.
RELION is available in 6 different thicknesses and is suitable for the production of a great many lines of products: classical footwear for children, women and men, but also for every type of sportive footwear (from skates to hiking boots). |
